We’re here for the scaly or feathered members of your family too
Pets come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, and we help lots of owners look after animals which are a little more unusual than cats and dogs. Rabbits and guinea pigs are quite common, but more and more people are also bringing snakes, lizards and exotic birds into their homes.
If you’re thinking about taking on a more unusual pet, it’s even more important to do some research first to find out what caring for them will involve. You need to offer them a home which reflects their natural habitat as much as possible. They may need to have carefully controlled temperature and moisture levels.
Your exotic pet is likely to need special food which can’t be easily brought home in a bag. If you’re going on holiday, do you have someone who’ll be willing to care for it properly while you’re away?
Vet Tim Wilson takes the lead on offering veterinary care to our customers with more unusual pets. Remember, you can always call to get free telephone advice about caring for your pet, and there are some information pages below.
We’re also happy to offer care to chickens. A growing number of people are keeping poultry in their gardens and we can help you keep them fit and well.
