Jenny Breen with Hessie“We are so pleased that Tim and Rob came to Hillyfields. We didn’t think we could get better than Sally (previous vet) but we were wrong. The care and attention they give to our cats is second to none and no question is too small. We’re proud to recommend them to our friends and family”

"In June 2007, following increasing disenchantment with a veterinary practice in a neighbouring town at which I had Persian cats registered for well over a decade, I decided to transfer to Alexandra Vets with immediate effect and have not looked back since.

Within 10 days of adopting 2 Persian cat from a rescue centre it was discovered that they both had serious long term health issues. I lost one in February 2007 and was told the other one, Coco, didn't have long to go. Under Mr Tim Wilson's care Coco thrived. The quality of his life improved so much that he was seemingly a cat without any problems whatsoever.

In my opinion the Alexandra Vets practice excels in every respect. The sheer professionalism which one encounters throughout is certainly unrivalled. The welfare of one's animals is of primary importance to the vets and staff alike. Words can not describe just how I appreciate this practice and the principles on which it is founded.

A big THANK YOU to everyone at Alexandra Vets.”

Jenny Breen with Hessie"In 2003 having recently moved house, we chose Vicky a black and white cat from the RSPCA Rescue Centre, what a character she was. I registered with Hillyfields Vets and met David and Sally. Vicky was by no means a young cat, and she was diagnosed with pancreatitis. This was only the beginning of regular monthly visits to the surgery.

Tim and Rob appeared on the scene (in 2006) and like Vicky I was dubious of the new vets, added to this another cat had adopted us. The new member of the family we called Snowy. I now had two cats to get used to new vets, after only a couple of visits I soon became very confident in Tim's caring nature when treating my cats. They were always happy after their visit generally feeling better than before. Sadly, Vicky died, very unexpectedly, just before Christmas 2008. Tim and all the nurses did everything they could possibly do to reduce Vicky's suffering. Fortunately, Snowy enjoys better health than Vicky did, needing only a manicure from Tim on a regular basis.

I thoroughly recommend Hillyfields Vets to any animal lover for I know they will treat their animals with the utmost kindness and respect."

“I would like to say a big thank you to Hillyfields Surgery for the attention and service they give and the pleasant welcome at reception and always knowing there is someone on the end of the phone for advice”

Nurse Claire Wilson with tortoise Toby“I was very satisfied with Toby’s treatment and felt that you did everything you could and were very thorough. The intensive care by Mr Wilson and nurse Claire Wilson meant that Toby survived when I thought he would not. All of the hours of effort put in were very much appreciated”

“To Mr Wilson and all the staff. Just to say a big thank you from ourselves and Chloe for looking after her so well and keeping her going; lets hope she makes 21!”

“To give our dogs (Scrumpy, Polly and Bertie) a real treat – we take them to Hillyfields Vets. They like it so much, that if left in the car whilst we fetch pet food etc. they bark, whine and whimper to be let out and will escape into the surgery if at all possible.

On one occasion, our elderly and very nervous Jack Russell was being walked up over Hillyfields whilst the others were being treated. Such was his fear of missing out that he slipped his collar and ran back to the surgery and sat waiting his chance to get through the door.

Needless to say, the veterinary care and treatment is of the very highest standard and our only criticism or observation is that we too cannot register for treatment.”

Husky Shackleton“Shack (Shackleton) one of two Siberian Huskies is a stoic type and like the rest of the breed, rarely shows pain, preferring to get on with the business of being a Husky i.e. sleeping, eating, walking and giving love and affection to all, even when ears are pulled and eyes poked. It was in May 2007 that my wife noticed an uncharacteristic lump on his left hind leg. This was growing at quite a rate as we had not noticed it when he was last groomed, probably only a few days before.

Rob Kilby saw Shack the same day, the caring response of all the team at Alexandra Vets was superb, showing a degree of care to Shack and the other members of the family that was much appreciated. Various X-rays and tests established the cause of Shack’s illness (a bone tumour) and it became clear that his only hope for survival lay in amputation of his left hind leg along with a course of chemotherapy. Tim Wilson, his team and the family were all of the same mind and were not about to give up on Shack, the photo of him standing just a few hours after (the operation) bears testament to the skill of Tim and the operating team.

Months of chemotherapy, x-rays and blood tests followed, the cost of which were born by insurance arranged through Alexandra Vets, all we had to do was sign a form and they did the rest for us. It’s all but 12 months since the operation and Shack is doing fine, so thanks guys”

My dogs love visiting Hillyfields Vets, they get yummy treats and are made a fuss of. What's more they get the very best of treatment and are kept fit and well.

For my part I get excellent service, advice when I need it and most of all confidence that my dogs are well cared for.

Albert the CockerelDear Tim, Albert is in fine form after the heroic needle work job you did on him earlier in the year. Unfortunately the only ‘before’ picture of him I have does not really show the extent of his injuries or any of your needlecraft.

Thank you very much for all the care you gave him even though I am sure you must have had some doubts as to whether he would make it on his first visit.

He definitely has regained his confidence, as well as three new hens in the run with him. I think the dog would surely come off second best now, or at least have serious doubts about trying anything again. Thanks for all your care.

I chose Alexandra Vets just because they were the first name in the phone book and had to be better than what I’d been used to. I wasn’t wrong. Their professionalism, care and compassion towards my animals and me is second to none. They have exceeded anything I ever expected.
