The main infectious diseases of pets are controlled by vaccination. Dogs can suffer from diseases such as Distemper, Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza and Bordetella (Kennel Cough). These can cause severe debilitating and sometimes fatal disease in unprotected individuals. Cats can suffer from Calicivirus (Cat Flu), Feline Enteritis and Feline Leukaemia. These can also cause chronic conditions and sometimes fatal complications. If you decide to take your pet on holiday with you and you wish to travel abroad, Rabies vaccination is required for the Pet Passport scheme. Click the link for more information. Finally, there are other diseases of dogs, cats, and rabbits for which vaccinations are now available – please ask for further details.
