Many clients decide to have their pet neutered. Males are castrated to prevent roaming and status-related problems. Females are spayed to avoid unwanted pregnancies and to avoid future health problems such as mammary tumours and uterine infections. Both operations can be done from the age of six months in dogs and cats.
