Finding that your much loved pet is suddenly seriously ill or has just had a severe accident is obviously very worrying. We believe, in such a situation, you will want the best available care and attention and we aim to provide this. During opening hours, if you have an emergency, call the surgery in the first instance. The nurse will contact the vet and we will be ready for you when you arrive.

We have all the skill and equipment needed to deal with emergencies. We will do everything we can to stabilize your pet and provide emergency treatment as required. We have links to referral centres for any specialist treatments or advice which might prove necessary.

Not all emergencies happen during opening hours.

In an out-of-hours emergency call the number above and their duty vet or nurse will make arrangements to see you. They are specialists in A&E work, they also have all the equipment to deal with emergency cases and they are up and awake all night waiting for your call. The days of phoning a sleeping vet and waiting for him to open a cold dark surgery in the middle of the night are now, thankfully, left back in the James Herriot era.
